Mark Reuss pidas maha sütitava kõne autoajakirjanikele. Mark märgib ära põhilised GM eesmärgid, rõhutab palju kliendi rahulolu olulisust ja tunnistab varem tehtud vigu. · A fourth customer had an intermittent rattle that never presented itself when he took it to his dealer. We’ve all experienced that situation, right?

· Well, this customer was fed up, and ready to turn his car back in. We sent an engineer to his house on New Year’s Eve. Problem solved. Customer for life.

Hummeri R.I.P. on väljakuulutatud. GM teatas, et Hummeri tootmine peatatakse järgmisel nädalal 19. jaanuaril ja viiakse lõpuni brändi müük hiinlastele.
Hummeritest pidi olema olemas küllaldane laovaru, mistõttu pole mõtet liini töös hoida. Olemasolevad Hummerid müüakse maha läbi seniste müügikanalite.

Ford teatas täna, et ta oli nr. 2 Euroopas 2009. aastal.
PS: Rahu, üritan eurotemaatika miinimumis hoida siin teemas. Siiski on natuke oluline tähele panna autotootjate välisturgudel toimuvat, kuna autotööstus on siiski globaalne ettevõtmine. Go Ford!

Ajakiri MotorTrend kirjutab täna kuidas Sergio Marchionne on leidnud viisi kuidas värskendada Chrysleri mudelivalikut. Selleks tuleb võtta Chrysler Sebring, asendada salongi sisu kõvad plastikud pehmega (mainitakse Dodge Rami nahaga katmist), seejärel nimetatakse Sebring järgmise sammuna ümber millekski muuks ja ongi uus auto valmis laineid lööma.

"You'll see a completely different animal," arvab Marchionne ise.

Kommentaarides on üks irvhammas välja pakkunud ka uue võimaliku nime - 200C

27 aastase staazhiga Fordi veteran Michael Richards jõudis Buick/GMC pealik olla kõigest 9 päeva. Marketingibossi Susan Docherty kommentaar oli napp: "Michael Richards otsustas lahkuda, et otsida uusi väljakutseid". Milles asi täpsemalt teavad kindlasti asjaosalised ise. Küll on aga teada, et Michael Richards oli kinnitatud ametisse Bob Luzi poolt, kes alles hiljuti võeti maha marketingibossi kohalt ja sai arvatavasti kompensatsiooniks Ed Whitacre "nõunikuks". Arvatakse, et Ed Whitacre ja aktsionäride nõukogu leiavad, et GM peaks olema veelgi agressiivsem ja muutustele altim. Sellest ka tormituuled juhtkonna kabinettides.

Lühikestes seelikutes, kõrgetel kontsadel modellid on Euroopa ja Aasia autoshowdel heaks tavaks. USA-s on seda kaasajal hakatud pidama seksistlikuks ja taunitavaks. Chrysler on seda trendi murdnud, tuues modellid tagasi nii Los Angelese kui ka NAIAS-se autoshowdele.
