TJD’s Guide To 2012′s Super Bowl Ads: The Good, The Bad, And The Naked

If Super Bowl commercials are a spectator sport, it must be an all-hetero-male league. While every year has its own crop of entries in the “sex sells” arena, we can’t help but feel 2012 has a particularly acute T&A presence. Whether it’s GoDaddy’s naked body paint lady or… uh, GoDaddy’s almost naked non-body paint ladies, we’re already feeling a bit of eye-roll fatigue up at TJD.
With that in mind, The Jane Dough presents its early guide to some of the more cringeworthy ads this year.
Here’s a teaser for Kia. Seems a little early to make judgments (since, really, it’s just a teaser) but let’s just say we’re hoping they find some creative direction forward with this one. (Side note: can anyone figure out what on earth she’s wearing? It looks complicated.):
Wait, Adriana Lima is going to be in two commercials this year? There was no one else available? Here’s another teaser for Lima’s other spot, this time for Teleflora:
Then there’s this Doritos ad (which Business Insider says is a “finalist” — so maybe we’ll be spared). This illustrates why the term “brochacho” is entirely unacceptable and why neanderthals should never use Siri:
So, out of curiosity, which of the 2012 commercials is generating the most controversy? Which one is leaving the masses outraged? It’s this one from Sketchers, which some people, apparently, think advocates dog racing. And, presumably, little dogs wearing tiny shoes:
Simmer down guys. At least Sketchers didn’t hire a Kardashian this year.
And yea, GoDaddy definitely has an actual naked woman being used as a billboard for its ad:
Anyway, just to end on a positive note, heres my personal favorite. No gross outfits. No lame insinuations. Just animals:
